«DAR» FOUNDATION SCHOOL INFORMATION BRIEF

The free–of–charge private school project has been started in 2004. The privately funded Charity Education Support Fund «DAR» was created in 2005 with the aim to realize this project’s goals.

There are two main streams in the fund’s activity — charity in education sphere (financial support to different government schools and educational projects) and start up of a new charitable free–of–charge school.

The current objective – is to build charitable free–of–charge school that would accommodate 550 high school and 150 pre–school students. The school building will have a custom–made architectural design which combines the latest trends in local and Western educational space organization technology including two swimming pools for high and elementary school students.

The Fund undertakes full financial support of the project from architectural design and construction phazes to the future maintenance. It created school’s concept, which was created and developed by prominent Russian teaching method developers, Moscow State University professors and academicians at the Russian Academy of Science as well as leading consultants in the field of education and school directors from Moscow and across Russia.

Currently the Project has already entered the phase of construction design on technical side and creation of core teachers group on human side.

The future school’s main objectives are:

1. To teach students to effectively search, locate and absorb information. To teach them think creatively and to adopt gained knowledge to the real–life environment;
   


2. To have students graduating with a high level of science knowledge, high cultural and ethical levels;
   


3. To teach students to be socially pro–active;
   


4. To create an environment of the maximum psychological comfort;
   


5. To preserve students health;
   


6. To provide conditions which would help kids to fully discover and develop their creative potential.

The Project is absolutely unique:

• Despite having elite teachers core and plentiful financial base the school would remain free–of–charge. The scale and charitable nature of the Project distinguishes this school from all others and puts it into a new category of private schools.
  


• This is a first charity project of such scale in the field of education. We hope to set an example for other institutions which would boost overall social activity of businesses in the field of education, outlined by the Russian President as the priority development area.
  


• Fund «DAR» also funds different state educational institutions and projects in Moscow and across Russia.
